All America High School Squad 

 

Congratulations go out to 4 players who have made the Age Grade National Squad

Their success is a testament to the hard work they have put in individually and the quality of youth rugby being played in North Carolina.    

 

 

CYR Tournament Registration is Open

 

Go to the Carolina Youth Rugby Festival to find details of our 2010 tournament. Get your applications in early to secure your place. We look forward to welcoming both North Carolina and out of State teams. 

 

 

 

Rookie Rugby hits Greensboro

 

Triad Youth Rugby has established 2 Rookie Rugby Programs this Fall.

 

1)Northern Guilford Elementary

Coach Norm Wilhelm in conjunction with the PTA has launched a club played within school time. There are 4 teams of 8 players having a great time.The Club is way oversubscribed.

They have been ably supported by the players and coaches of UNCG rugby.

The club runs for 6 weeks in the Fall and 6 weeks in the Spring.

 

2) Kernodle Middle School - Greensboro

The coaches for TYRA have been running rugby classes for these middle school students. They spend the whole day in the school running all the PE classes with a basic introduction to Rookie Rugby. The game has been introduced to over 200 students. Emphasis is on fun, fitness and delivering the message that RUGBY IS A GREAT AMERICAN SPORT!     

 

 

 

 

Partnerships with colleges

 

CYR is delighted to announce partherships with the players and coaches of UNCG Rugby and Wake Forest Rugby Clubs. These great organisations are providing clinics and support for the youth rugby projects in the region.
